Renk Özdemir is currently Assistant Professor of International Relations at Hacettepe University. Previously, Özdemir was Visiting Fellow at the Center for Asia Minor Studies in Athens and Visiting Scholar at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University. Özdemir holds an MA degree in International Relations, an MSc degree in Social Research Methods and a PhD degree in International Relations. Özdemir’s MSc and PhD studies at the University of Sussex were funded by the Jean Monnet and the ORSAS schemes. Özdemir’s work on forced migration also received grants from the MiReKoc – FPME, BIAA and TUBITAK and was honoured with the Robert W. & Jessie Cox and the Routledge – GCP&S Essay Awards. Özdemir taught Theories of International Relations and International History at METU NCC as well as History of Political Thought,  Theories of Nationalism, Research Methods and Introduction to Philosphy at Hacettepe University, and continues to offer courses at the latter institution.
